What are some questions I could expect for a job interview at a grocery store?

They will want to make sure that you have good people skills. The most important thing about working at a grocery store was saying hello to everyone you walk past, always being cheerful and willing to help anyone. I hated it, lol. Worst job of my life. But if you are naturally a people person you will be fine, just say that in the interview. If it is for a lower position such as bagger or "courtesy clerk" as they call it, you don't have to be really qualified or smart, you just have to be a nice person who is willing to clean up the aisles and push several carts at a time. Just be happy and upbeat and it will go well.

Since it is a job that involves working with customers, you need to highlight your willingness to work with people. You might expect questions regarding how you would deal with a customer that is being rude, or is upset with something. Remember, you are the face of this store, so you have to be friendly, no matter what. Keep that in mind. That is the kind of person that they want working there. Be prepared to answer questions about anything and everything on your application/resume'. Since you have no work experience, they will probably ask you about classes and/or your extra curricular activities. Be prepared to tell them what you have learned and how your experience can help their store. Look professional. Don't wear jeans or shorts. Skirt and a nice shirt should do nicely. I don't think you will need a business suit for a grocery store job. Good luck!

Paper or Plastic?

They'll ask if you plan on working during the school year or just for the summer. Do you have your own car / driver's license / can you get work to work on your own... etc Wear what you see people working there wearing, maybe a tiny bit dressier.

They ask basic questions about how much you can work, tell you the ins and outs of what they expect. Dress NICE

They are going to ask you how you deal with challenging situations, and possibly provide an example of a time you had to turn a bad situation around. You should dress comfortably, but don't wear jeans and any large brand logos. Khakis and a button down shirt or polo will be fine. Just relax and SMILE- they are looking for someone who will be good with customers, and a smile goes a long way. Good luck!
