Hi Can anyone give me some examples of successful customer service ideas that was initally created by an organisation, but then it was followed by other organisations due to competition? For example: Tesco was the first supermarket to implement online shopping and since then other major supermarkets have followed and offer the service. Thank you!

I think these three are probables :- - Direct Line Insurance by RBS - First Direct Bank by HSBC - Dell Computers. DL for call centre insurance 24/7. FD for call centre retail banking. Dell selling PCs via only the Web. Do check Wikipedea etc for the facts, but I think these will be valid.
