Question about resume?

Long Question about cover letter and resume? 10 pts for best answer?

• In last semester of college and while at my part time job i met someone who said she could help me. She gave me her card and told me to email her my resume and that she would give it to her friends that work in the field I'm interested in which is accounting. Of course i said sure, and i have a resume set but not a cover letter. She didn't say if it was a private or public firm only that it was a large firm. I believe that cover letters have to be written to a specific someone and that it can't just be a general letter for any job. Anyway is it ok for me to email her just my resume and not cover letter. I was thinking about emailing her to ask so i can know which firm im applying for. Im not sure what to do and I dont really want to bug her with questions, but if i do ask and she wants the cover letter how am i supposed to send it? I made my resume on microsoft word. Do i send cover letter as page 1 and resume as page 2 as an attachment?

  Your cover letter may be addressed to a position holder in the firm. Head of Human Resources etc. A cover letter should be separate from your resume, which should be entire in its own right. As the lady gave you her card and offered her help, I would address the cover letter to her, recalling your conversation and asking her to pass your resume to the correct individual.
