How much does the average films director make in 1 year?

It varies greatly by director and film. If the director gets paid a salary plus a percentage of the fim profits he or she could make millions. However, if a director can't find work that year unless he or she is getting money from previous work they may not earn any money at all. It's a rough business that way.

I am what I would consider a Heavy to light Intense film buff. I don't have the extra money to go out and watch 10+ new movies a week. But in between, Cable, Netflix and Redbox and an occasional theater visit. I probably watch 12- 15 movies a week. I enjoy movies from most all genre's and from most era's. But no I don't really watch much in the way of Foreign films, but I have been known to watch some Asian films with subtitles. One of my most prized possessions is the full 5 discs of the movie Shogun. I love that film. My favorite movie of all time is Casablanca. I can remember scenes and random quotes from all sorts of films. I just enjoy watching movies. But I won't pretend to have seen every great movie ever made. I am 39 years old.
