I need Ebay help.

EBay users!....I need help bad!?

  • My husdband Jon, was trying to sell our Tahoe for $15,500 and put it as a reserved price and not a buy it now. He had it so you could bid on their as well to see if anyone wanted to bid over $15,500. But some how there was a mistake on the eBay that made it so this man won the bid for $4,500. eBay made it so it was just a striaght bid! $4,500 is way lower then the asking price. Jon kindly explained to the man that it was a mistake and he would have been crazy to let anyone try to buy it lower then the asking price. This man was outraged and said that is was too bad, it was a legal binding contract on eBay and Jon has to give it to him for $4,500. Jon asked eBay for help but they are saying that thier is no proof that Jon had it at the right setting and that is changed all the sudden. The man is now threating to take us to court and I just don't know our rights?!?!?! I can't just call eBay because I can't find a number. Can anyone help us please?

  • Answer:

Basically you listed it wrong because if there was a reserve price of 15,500 he would not have won the truck. He could probably take you to court and win but he is obviously a douche bag for not having a soul. I would just let him take me to court.

Sounds like you have already tried to contact the buyer and resolve the misunderstanding and the buyer is not willing to give up the item sold to him/her. The buyer should be a little more understanding in my opinion but it doesn't always work out that way. Here is the best solution I could come up with after searching ebay. http://ebay-us.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/ebay_us.cfg/php/enduser/popup_adp.php?p_eb_segment=&p_sid=Z4IRrY*i&p_lva=undefined&p_li=undefined&p_faqid=70&p_created=1189812111&p_sp=undefined&page_id=2 Good luck and next time just make the starting bid no less than what you expect to get for the vehicle and then there won't be any problems after the item sells.

TAke it to safe harbor and go in that direction

Quit communicating with him. He will probably do nothing except leave negative feedback.

You may be screwed with this one brittney. i've sold on ebay many times and a reserve price/ buy it now price and regular bidding are all very clear on how to set that up. my advise to you is to ignore the buyers emails refund his money if he already tried to pay and forget about him. even if he tries to take you to court(and i doubt he will) I would just damage the car to the point that he wouldn't want it anymore. but in a court of law your trying to say it was a mistake will be shot down. the judge wont lissen to it because you could have fixed the problem before someone bid on the item
