(My uncle was at half a mil a year before he took an early retirement.) But you're also responsible for a lot of crap and yer on call 24 hours a day. I went with the HVAC trade. $45.00 an hour, company vehicle, tools are paid for and full benefits. And then there's the side jobs I can do for cold hard cash. With my trade I really know 5 trades. Sheet metal, electrical, heating, cooling and plumbing. I'm also the guy the power engineers call when their system messes up. HVAC can also land you a job as a building operator. The perks of that job is free housing. But you're on call and it's really considered a part time job. Avoid the tool and dye trade. Most companies are trying to deskill the trade to compete with China.
