Does anyone know about writing magazine articles and interviewing for information?

  • I just got lucky and was mentioned to a company and will start writing articles for them. This is a first for me and I will have to interview the people that pitched these ideas for the magazines. Any ideas on how to get great detailed information from them and also how do I go about retaining this information. I understand taking notes...but what is the easiest and best way to get the most information for the article. I want to make sure Im educated on the subject given to me. The articles have to do with telecommunications and the people pitching the topics for the articles are people who work for companies within this field and want to be seen in the publication to get the word out about their business. Please if anyone has ANY advice, I would LOVE it! Thanks!!!

  • Answer:

Sounds like a fun job. Make sure you are reading telecom magazines and their blogs: Telephony, Wireless Week, Phone+, Xchange, and others. Also, here is a link on how to interview someone: http://www.badlanguage.net/how-to-interview-someone. It's a blog on writing about business, technology, and marketing. Good luck!
