What is a Marketing major really like?

Does being in finance REALLY requires communications skils like VERY MUCH, rather compared to "marketing" ?

Means i feel if one's good at investing , managing/rotating money, Maths, Accounts n Finance.. he's good at that place... rather the need of marketing something..wat can be done by hiring others... "NOT Every ONe Can be PerFect On EveRything " For me it's just Finance is all abt --- tackling money.. Marketing on other end requires real Comm. skills.. to entangle people to buy.. :) Wat U guys Say ? Is Comm skills real like real very essential necessity in Business/finance as if one's gonna die if he has LIL or NO... Lol

  Even if all you deal with is numbers, you will still have to communicate with other people (co-workers, investors, management, etc.). If you can not speak and write intelligently and coherently, people will tend to have less confidence in your other skills. That isn't always fair, but it is the way it is. Accommodations are always made for accents and some idiomatic differences due to someones native language being something other than English, but there is a point where people get weary of trying to understand the point someone is trying to make, or trying to read some document that is poorly written (like your question) that they just give up and see if they can deal with someone else that does communicate better. So, YES, communication skills are very important in just about any profession or career. You can be the greatest financial mind in town but people will shy away from you because a lack of clear communication will not instill any confidence in your abilities.
