Is Midway Skatepark any good?

OPENING A CARPET SKATEPARK?!?

• So I am thinking about opening a carpet skatepark in the Bay Area. It will basically be like a skatepark but covered with carpet and people will use carpet skates/boards. I am still deciding. Thinking to charge 5$ per hour. and 3$ for skate rental. Do you think you would go? Would it be popular? What should it be called? What age group should it be aimed for?

  ignoring the type of business you want to start, go back to business basics: what are your costs? based on those costs, how many customers do you need per month and at which price to cover those costs? My initial thoughts are as follows: 1)You are in an area of expensive real estate, thus high rents. 2) The type of business you want to start will require a lot of space to attract customers 3) Your customer base is rather limited 4) Your liability insurance will be extremely expensive because there will be people jumping, performing tricks, running into each other, etc. I could go on and on, but my guess is that you will have to charge significantly more than what you propose to cover your costs. Good luck. PS - What about a glow-in-the-dark putt putt golf center? They have relatively low startup costs and can attract players from 3-60+ years of age, are played indoors, and carry relatively low risk of injury. It may be something else to consider. My kids made me play 4 times in Hawaii two weeks ago @ $22 for the three of us, plus snacks and other glow in the dark schwag they wanted to take home.
