Sims 2 nightlife frozen time and space, HELP!?

  • Ok, so, my bff and i LOVE playing sims 2 nightlife. But the problem is, is that every time we move a family bin into a lot they freeze, the people and time. you can still place furniture and tell them to do stuff they just wont move or do it. and my pause is not on, ive checked that like a billion times. So, i have downloaded a TON of custom content, but im not deleting it, ive tried that before and it didnt help any. ive also deleted all my neighborhoods which made my game work alot faster and better, but ever since i did that ive had this problem. Also, went i move a family into a lot the game takes forever to load so me and my friend just got tired waiting and shut the game off during loading. could that have been the problem too? if so, how do i make my game load faster without loading for like 20 minutes or more? please help :) *** THE ANSWER THAT HELPS MY GAME WORK WILL GET BEST ANSWER *** PS my houses load perfectly if theirs no people in there. idk if that helps any.

  • Answer:

When you deleted your custom content the last time, where was this custom content located that you deleted? Was it in a folder on your desktop? Because if it was, then you did not really delete your custom content. The problem you are describing definitely sounds like one that is caused by custom content. But that does not mean that you have to get rid of all of it. You need to figure out which piece or pieces of custom content are causing the problem and then just get rid of that piece or those pieces and then you can keep the rest. But first things first. I want you to actually pull two folders out of your game files and then see if your game will play correctly after you pull those two folders out. So, if you are on a computer that has Vista, then you need to go to this location to find the folders that I want you to pull out and put on your desktop: Users\(Current User Account)\Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2 Now, after you find the above location on your computer, you should see a bunch of different folders inside of the folder called The Sims 2. One of the folders is called Downloads. Click on this folder and drag it out and drop it on your desktop. You might need to re-size the folder called The Sims 2 so you can see some of your desktop. Then, click on the folder called Saved Sims and drag that out and drop it on your desktop as well. If you are playing on a computer that has XP, then you find these files and folders here: Documents and Settings\(Current User Account)\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2 But whether your are playing on a computer that has Vista or XP, once you find the folder called The Sims 2, open that folder and then re-size it so you can still see some of your desktop, then drag the folder called Saved Sims and also the one called Downloads out to your desktop. Now close everything back up and go back into your game. Try playing a family now. If you can play and the time and the sims don't freeze, then you will know for sure that you have something in one of those two folders that's causing a problem. I normally recommend that people now put those two folders back where they got them from and then go get The Sims2Pack CleanInstaller and use that to check to see if they can find any hacks. If you are willing to get this program, then you can find it here: http://sims2pack.modthesims2.com/index.php?page=1 The link above will take you to the home page of the site. Read what it says under Welcome because you must first install a program from Microsoft called .NET framework on your computer for the sims2pack cleaninstaller to be able to work. There is a link to click on in the first paragraph that will take you to the site at Microsoft so you can download the .NET framework program. Once you save that program to your desktop and then double-click on it to install it, then you are ready to install the sims2pack cleaninstaller. So, go back to the link above and then click on Downloads that you will see on the left side of the screen. Just get the top one that's on the list. Save it to your computer's desktop and then double-click on it to install it. While you are at the site to download the cleaninstaller, read the FAQ and the Quick Start Guide so you know what it does and how it works. Once you have installed it, then double-click on the icon it makes and have it check your downloads folder for hacks. If you read the FAQ and the Quick Start guide, you will know what to do if you find any hacks. Now, once that's done. Go back into your game and try to play again. If you can and there's no problems anymore then great! You're done. But if you still have problems, there is more you can do. I'm going to post a link to a "guide" that explains how to try to find problems with your custom content: http://www.sims2wiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Finding_Problem_Custom_Content If you do all of what I suggested and you are still having problems, then I guess make another question. But try to do what I have told you to try before you say, It won't work. It is the best thing to do if you don't want to simply delete all of your custom content.
