How to load native library to play framework?

Steam .exe (main exception): unable to load library steam.dll?

  • Hey, I got Counter Strike Source today, and I loaded it in (along with Steam). Now when I double-click the icon, I get the error steam .exe (main exception): unable to load library steam.dll. How can I fix this? Reinstall Steam? By the way, I'm not connected to the internet (I just switched to ComCast so it should be in shortly). But shouldn't I get a screen that would say "play CSS" or "Join Server" even? Thanks, OwNaGeR PS this is my last question =(

  • Answer:

you are going to be severely disappointed with Source. Its a shame you opened the box because now it is non-returnable. the reason i say this is because hardly anyone plays Source. Late at night it will be extremely difficult just to find a server thats not full of a bunch of zombies that live in their moms basement or even worse... BOTS. the maps are WAYYYYY too big also. i hope you did your research on it and asked ppl about it. i would hate to see you waste $$$ on something you thought was going to be awesome

You need to be connected to the net to set up a Steam account. After it runs thru all its stuff, go to game, then Counter Strike and run it. You should get the play or join server message after that. Red Orchestra uses Steam and to play offline, you have to tell it to remember password, otherwise it won't play the practice mode.
