How can I convince my mom to let me play MAG and Modern Warfare 2?

You're not old enough for the games so you shouldn't be allowed to play them.

You're 13, you shouldn't be playing these anyway. I disagree with your mom, but in the end it is her decision. Arguing with her is just disrespectful. You'll have to be patient, wait a few years and then try again.

I would help you if the typical 13 year old wasn't extremely annoying. Listening to children over xbox live is like nails on a chalk board.

Simply explain to her that video games are virtual. Also, in the wars, or battles currently happening, "millions" of people don't die. only 1 out of every 20 soldiers in Iraq is even hurt. let alone dead. Plus, those games have nothing to do with the wars that are occurring today. Killzone 2 is based waaay in the future. Modern warfare 2 isn't even based on modern combat. AND Mag is just it's own game. everyone is a mercenary.

tell her that these games educate you on issues of new technology tell that in MW2 all of the stuff in the game is real life modern weapons and if she uses the excuse, "well this game will teach you to be violent" play the i cant belive that you dont trust me card and make her feel bad for not trusting you then go in for a compromise like at least let me try and if my behavior is bad or more violent then you can take it away until im the appropriot age then play have fun and give your mom a reson to trust you then you can get more games like MW2 but you have to start out small as in try for one game build trust then try for more

lol tell her its not real, needs strategy, and ps mw2, you can skip the bad levels but not loose game points(play it in secret thats what i did)

Kid, you have to sneak it. That's what you have to do with everything. Parents like to believe they can control their children completely, but such control is an illusion as most parents did things similar when they were children. In the end you must decide if what you are trying to do is really a good idea, if so, then you need to decide if it's worth the consequences. But this wont be the first time, as parents will always split beliefs. For example: if one day you decide you are a homosexual, your mother may be cool with it, while your father lectures you, where as your current predigament is that your father allows you to play such games while your mother does not. There will be a similar debate the first time you are caught with porn. Bottom line: Don't get caught!
