Question regarding sims 2 installation

  • I am trying to install the sims 2 on my pc. And it keeps saying that there is a error occuring when trying to transfer a certain file from the media. What does this mean? i keep pressing retry and it downloads very slowly. and the message pops up on every percentage.

    your drive probably not strong enough to read the files directly from cd/dvd.try this. If you do not find any scratches, fingerprints, or marks of any kind on your CD, try renaming the InstallShield folder by following the steps provided below: Click the Start button on the Windows Taskbar. Select My Computer. Double-click on the C: drive. Double-click the Program Files folder. Double-click the Common Files folder. Right-click the InstallShield folder and select Rename. Rename the folder to InstallShieldOld. Start the installation again to reinstall the InstallShield components with the newest version. do the manual installation if problem still occur.
