How do you play the game ships and sailors?

• Ok, I've seen gameplay videos, and the trailer, the game looks really good, but I have a few questions regarding the game..... 1: After the 14 day trial how much does the game cost, and what is the monthly cost for online interactions? 2: In this game are you able to land on a planet, and also play as a character, or is it just flying the ships? 3: Is the game sold at stores as well like gamestop or is it only available as a download? These questions obviously goes for those who know about this game, or currently own it. THANKS!

• Answer:

  1) It is your average monthly MMO fee of around 13-15 $ (depending on what subscription cycle you use or multi-month GTC - however there is an option to purchase gametime with ingame money so in theory you can reach a point where you can play for 'free'). A key to make a new account is around 40$ *I think*. 2) By now you have an actual character that is more than a portrait but still the interaction is very limited. You can walk around on stations but you'll 'never' see the surface of a planet - save for a strategic view in order to... I don't even know all the options but you can build stuff on the surface (planetary interaction was added I think three or four content updates ago). However they are working on Dust 514 - a PS3 multiplayer shooter set in the EVE universe that is supposed to allow EVE pilots to hire 'mercs' to... do stuff on the planet for you. Maybe you'll be able to do support drops or orbital bombardments but the possible interactions are not at all clear. (Footnote: This game may also make the jump to PC.) 3) Sometimes. I haven't seen a boxed copy in a long time (there were retails copies in store) but GTC can sometimes be found in stores.
