A VERY IMPORTANT SIMS 3 AND SIMS 2 QUESTION!!!!!!!?
-
I own Sims 3 but I don't own any of the other Sims games for the pc. I was doing some research and a lot of people are saying that Sims 2 is better than Sims 3. Is Sims 2 very different than Sims 3. Is it worth buying. I dont want to end up having 2 games that are the exact same. Also are the expansion packs for the Sims 2 different than the origianal game itself. What are the best expansion packs to buy? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well i don't have sims 3 but i do have sims 2, i think that sims 3 sound way more fun than 2 is.
Personally, I like Sims 3 better because of the seamless neighbourhood thing. Other than that, the customization, and a few other minor changes, the games are quite similar. If you have Sims 3 already, I wouldn't suggest buying Sims 2 and expansions (though Nightlife and Open for Business were really fun). You would probably wind up feeling like you have two of the same game. There will be expansions for the new version sooner or later, and they will probably be better than the Sims 2 expansions.

They're pretty much the same game, but people have invested thousands of hours in Sims2 making custom houses and characters, which Sims3 has less of because of it is relatively new. If you have Sims 3, you don't need Sims 2

Sims 2 is only better because of the expansion packs it has for now. Don't worry though, EA has plans for expansions down the road for Sims 3 too, as they had with the other games.

I have sims 2 and 3 and i think that sims 3 is very much better because you have more opportunities if you like being in the town or with friends, but i don't have any expansion packs in sims 2 so couldn't tell really. but it is much cheaper to by only sims 3 the buying sims 2and 2 or more packs. the sims 2 also takes longer to load everytime you wont to go somewhere.
it only better because of its expansion packs but they are gonna make some for the sims 3 to0 so don't buy any other sim games the sims 3 has way more options to do and the sims 2 takes for every to load and you can only stay in one spot plus the Graphics for the sims 3 are way better so don't waste your money
i think sims 2 is way better

well i have all the expansions for a sims 2 and I own the sims 3 (I'm kinda a sims freak) anyway I loveee the sims 3 no more loading screens (yay) it is very different from the sims 2 the sims have traits which are fun I love playing a klepto sim because they get to steal things. Anyway at the moment I would say because all the cheats and expansion from the sims 2 makes it better (only with certain EP's) ATM however I believe when more expansion packs come out for the sims 3 it will be waaay better than the sims 2 ever was and as a base game sims 3 is better than the sims 2 and I think I am finding the sims 3 to be more entertaining at the moment tho. Also I believe the sims 2 site is soon going to just be left like the what happened to the sim 1 site. SO i suggest you keep the sims 3 as It a good game and will be much better if they sort out the rabbitholes and bring out more expansions it is worth your money =D did i mention how awesome customnisation is?

I have all the expansion packs for sims 2 and sims 3 so I am a great person to ask! sims 2 was great because it came with lots of expansions that aren't available on sims 3 yet! I was a bit worried about getting the sims 3 as I wasn't sure if I would like it. However, I soon settled in and found I wasn't missing all the old things I could do on the sims 2 as the sims 3 comes with so much more! For example, you can follow your sim to work, you can visit people's homes, you can design your sim to have any personality imaginable! :D and if I had a choice now, I would not go back to sims 2. However, there are some problems with sims 3, as you have a to have a lot of memory on your computer for it to run smoothly, and your graphics card has to be up to date (include pixel shader 2.0) I think it works better on newer computers, and as my computer is quite old, I found it quite hard to run at first! but you soon get used to it :) Overall I would recomend sims 3, because they will create new expansion packs and updates, and soon everyone will have it! :D
