Nintendo 64 controller joystick?

My nintendo 64 controller is broken the joystick is to loose how do you fix it?

  • Answer:

I think the joystick was the one major problem with the N64, and unfortunatly there's nothing to be done about it. The mechanism which relocates the joy to center and senses pressure on the stick wears after time, until it can no longer do what's its designed to. Mine got so bad it was impossible to complete Zelda Orcarina of Time again because Link couldn't run fast enough to jump far enough to finish the fire temple. Fortunatly, 64 controllers are fairly inexpensive, and they're old enough that there are dozens of 3rd party options for even cheaper than normal.

aaaaaaaaaaagh.....sorry but i know EXACTLY what you mean. all of mine are and it is so aggrivating. the thing is, it loosens and that powdery stuff is broken loose because of years of use. so really, fixing it isn't an option. unless there's some way i haven't heard of. anyway, if you have a gamestop or and eb games nearby they usually have cheao n64 controllers. try there.
