Should i get a ds lite?

We do like our DS lites much better than the old DS. The screens are much brighter, it's smaller and lighter, etc. However I would say that the lites are a little more delicate, and if you are really hard on your things, you might find yourself with a broken DS lite sooner rather than later. My son has broken THREE DS lites, and my daughter has broken one. All had broken right-hand hinges, which cracked and fell off. I have spoken with Nintendo regarding this and they refuse to acknowledge there is a problem. They just say that my kids "must have dropped" their DS lites and weakened the hinges, and this is why they broke. So get the DS lite, you will love it; but you might consider getting a service plan if you can (I think Best Buy offers this). As for the trade-in, the only places I know for sure that do this are GameStop and EGames. I don't know what they are giving nowadays for the older DSs. When we traded in, it was a pretty decent exchange, but that was literally back on the very first day the lites were released. Call your local store and ask before you go in; they will tell you over the phone.

I actually asked that question too. I went into gamestop yesterday to trade in my ds for money. The guy was really a jerk. He was like first of all you have to be 18 and have a drivers license, (so make sure you bring your mom or dad.) Then he said we can't take it without the stylus. (so make sure you remember your stylus.) I'm sorry but they really rip you off. They have to take 20% off for trade in for anything so they would only give me 40 bucks!! And my ds loooked brand new!!! So if yours is scratched up and in bad condition they'll probably only give you like 30-20 for it. It's not worth it for me but if your willing to do that it is up to you! Good luck!! ♥♥♥
