Looking for a good RTS Game?

Hey, I got about 30 bucks in my pocket I intend on spending on a video game. I'm looking for an RTS, but I need some suggestions. I'd like to find one that's battle tactic/troop based, none of that Resource Race bullcrap. I'd also like it to be playable on my mediocre Toshiba laptop or possibly my Xbox 360.. I've already played through the Warcrafts and Starcraft, now I'm lookin for something different. You guys know of any games that fit that description? 10 points to the most informative.

if your looking for Tatics/troop base go with Empire: Total War. you can buy it on Steam for 30$
