How do I put videos on my PSP?

  • I made a file that says MP_ROOT and then another inside it that says 100MNV01, then I put a MP4 video file in there. When I went into the PSP to try and play it, the PSP said there was no video files on the system, and to try and put some on. So how do I put them on my PSP?

  • Answer:

    Create a "VIDEO" directory outside of "MP_ROOT" not in it. You would do the same for PICTURE, MUSIC, PS3 and PSP. Create each directory if it's not already there. Saving a "game save" from the PS3 to the PSP should create the "PS3" directory for you. You should already have a "PSP" directory with multiple directories in it.

first thing you gotta do is get the video. if you want it from youtube, copy and paste the URL on www.keepvid.com in the box, then click to download the MP4 version. or if you want to download the flv. file and convert so it is specifically for PSP, then you can download this free program called HandBrake, which is a converter. once you get this program, click source, in the upper-left corner, and choose >video file>browse. choose the flv. file you got earlier. then, from there you can make some adjustments, like the dimensions of the video or you can change the file format to M4V or MP4 or MPG and stuff, or you can just click start and watch it go. depending on how long the video is, conversion may take a while, but its usually pretty fast. then you drag the finished psp video file to your PSP video folder and it should play. this is how i get videos on my ipod, because you can convert it so that it is designed to be played on a certain platform. hope this helped.
