Why do people make fun of Nintendo products?

  • I really don't get this. I've seen it happened before too. If you own a Nintendo DS, Nintendo Gamecube, or a Nintendo Wii. You will get made fun of by allot of people who don't have one, Also you'd get made fun of by allot of people who own a XBOX360 or a Playstation 3. I really don't get this. People say it's all about graphics. They don't even care about the Gameplay or story lines at all. If you own a Nintendo DS, a Nintendo Wii or a Nintendo Gamecube, Some people will say its a baby's console and it's for little 5 year olds. And I think it's bullshit. I am a Zelda and Mario fan and am 18 years old and I've grown up playing with Nintendo Games. Nintendo's been popular for along time and people should know that. If you even own a Nintendo product. You'll get made fun of. For example, For Pokemon lovers, If you own a Pokemon Game for the DS, People will bash you for it. Just a few weeks ago at school I saw a guy that had his Nintendo DS, And he was playing Pokemon Platinum on it. There was this football player who was making fun of him for it and the football player was saying the Xbox 360 is better. So I don't know why people do this crap. They think Nintendo Products are baby products. I really want to know what makes them think that. Are they jealous or what? No fan boys please. I don't feel like getting bashed and being called a Nintendo nerd. How would the XBOX and Sony fan boys feel like it if we called you nerds? And yeah I'm trying to make a statement.

    You have no idea how refreshing it is to hear this. I know exactly what you mean. I've grown up with Nintendo and Sega and personally, I think they own against the Sony and Microsoft. Nintendo is far more original than the others (look at the Wii and its controls). If Nintendo sucks, why is the Wii selling better than the PS3 and 360? If Nintendo sucks, why does it have far more original games like Mario, Pokemon and Zelda? Why does Nintendo suck just because it doesn't have a strong graphics card? Does Nintendo suck because it cares about gameplay and storylines? It's all to do with Fanboys. They are annoying people that will do anything for 'their console'. It's quite sad actually. I just don't see how they can constantly shoot people, game after game, console after console, hour after hour, and find it amusing. Star for you, friend.

I love Nintendo. I never even had an xbox or playstation. Nintendo all the way. Haven't tried a Mario game I didn't like either. I always play Pokemon and whatever else is fun on my ds. And I don't care what anyone says about it =) Oh and I love my gamecube more than anything in the world. pokemon snap ftw!

"which is better" is very much a case of "to each his own." Each system has its +s & -s. Especially lately, Nintendo isn't aiming at the Hardcore super gamer, but the casual, not really a gamer gamer. The egotistical "my system is best" gamers can't stand others joining in. I do think graphics are a big deal, I've heard it repeatedly. But frankly, if I'm only looking for good graphics, I watch a movie, not play a game. as for the ds basher all about xbox360, I didn't know you can carry it around in your pocket to play on when you had a few min to waste. Comparing ds to psp, I get, but portable systems don't compare w/ stationary ones.

There was a point that if I wanted an 'adult' game, one with lots of shooting, I could not get it on the Nintendo system. Nintendo was seen as a 'starter' system, when yu learn the basics of video game playing, but when it was time to play a more mature game, you moved up to Playstation or XBox. Now, this is not the true case and I see a lot of FPS games and zombie games available on the platform. But Nintendo is still see as the House of Mario and Sonic and other 'children-level' games, a claim not wholly unjustified, but rather unfair in the light of things

because Nintendo is seen as making games for kids or family's they dont go for what sells hot on the market as of now they sell for what people will come back to in and peers but a lot of presser on each other about whats hot and whats not well thats my opinion anyways

nintendo has become lame. it was cool but now they have low quality, shallow games market to infants and old people. it's just not the same. wii specifically. nes, snes, n64, gamecube, even the ds are still awesome. the wii is just fail. it has like 3 good games

Maybe their jealous. I have a Wii and DS lite. I love mario and they can't play mario on PS3 or XBOX 360. No body has made fun of me. They just say i'm lucky. :)

well i dont hate nintendo i respect them a whole lot more than the crappy xbox 360 but i dotn play theres systems anymore and its mostly becuase mst of there games are aimed at a younger audience..there nothing wrong with that.. i just perfer more mature storylines..sure nintendo wii has a few mature games..but compared to ps3 they have only a handful..and yes nintendo is the number one console sold but research sells show most consumers than bought a wii are families with small children, the wii is a family console and has many games for people of all ages...after all nintendo has been around forever they literally created the first gaming community but like i said though game for nes and snes were awesome but still for everyone and aimed at children since they are the number one players and nintendo has stuck by there proven formule and theres nothing wrong with that..i stopped buying nintendo when squaresoft left for the ps1 ever since ive been a loyal sony fan i still think nintendo is an amazing company...but i just cant stand the xbox as a whole company not just the console, they care little for the consumers selling defective consoles and they use underhanded techniquesto steal companies from both nintendo any sony..with proven bribery of certain games to release dlc exclusives and game exclusive...they single handedly started a war which was once a frindly competiton ;(
