Can I use regular fabric paint in place of screen printing ink?
-
I'm thinking of screen printing my own shirts, but I can't find a place where I live that sells screen printing ink. Can I use regular fabric paint instead? Also, how do I treat it so that it withstands multiple washings (for instance, you iron screen printing ink so it stays).

Answer:

No you cannot - Fabric Paint will peel off a lot faster. You need a fabric paint that will cure when heated so that it can stay on the fabric through multiple washings. If you're looking for low cost fabric paint, you can find some at http://www.trichem.com

No, the ink you find on any screen printed shirt is cured to the fabric, not only with heat, but with UV light. Dick Blick and speedball sell in small quantity.

nah cause the quality of the shirt wont be as good.
