How do you iron on dark t-shirt transfer paper?

I am a brownie leader and want to have my troop make their own tshirt designs using iron on paper?

  • i don't want the computer iron on transfer paper; just plain old iron on paper where the girls can draw their designs; i thought this would hold up better than fabric markers; any thoughts on this?

  • Answer:

How about iron on crayons? These crayons are made by Crayola and several other companies. The girls can draw and color their own design onto any light colored paper, then it can be ironed onto the shirt, but remember that all lettering must be done in reverse. I used this technique many years ago to make a troop quilt, each girl made a block and we sewed them together into a quilt.

I think Hobby Lobby sells this sort of thing. If you don't have hobby lobby, try Michael's. But I know I saw some at Hobby lobby in the same area as the iron on patches and decals.
