Where to find good easy to learn trumpet solo?

How to build a trumpet?

  • What I want is to learn how to make a trumpet; what I don't want is to learn how to make one out of bottles, fruit, pcp pipe, cardboard, rubber tubbing, or a garden hose!!!! I'd like to know how to build an actual trumpet, with three valves - made out of brass. Does anyone know where I can find this info, or will I have to waterboard the guys down at Bach in order to get it?

    Your best bet would be to take machine-shop classes... the valves and valve-casings are machined (turned on a metal lathe). All that brass tubing requires CAREFUL bending and brazing... and of course you have to get your piece of ART carefully tapered from mouthpiece to bell for correct intonation and to be IN TUNE on the B-flat scale ! I played trumpet, bugle, baritone, and marching-baritone... I only did a few repairs, and really left most everything to my local music shop. I guess you COULD waterboard the folks at Bach... or Yamaha or Cannonball. BETTER Yet... seek out a music shop and get a job training to Repair trumpets ??
