How to use a PBX machine?

Does anyone know if you can use any sewing machine needle brand with a brother brand basic sewing machine? ?

• Like can you use a singer universal sewing machine needle or a universal sewing machine needle in general with a basic brother sewing machine? Any ideas?

  Brand of needle doesn't matter. What does matter is the needle system -- and even though the needle system markings can vary from brand to brand, these are all the same needle: HAx1, 130R, 130/705H, 15x1, SY 2020. The other things that will matter are needle size (you want to poke the smallest hole through your fabric that you can and still get stitches to form) and needle point style, which largely depends on the construction of the fabric -- knit, woven, knit with spandex, closely woven, coarsely woven, etc. If you don't know what you need, size 80/12 universal point needles will sew most garment weight fabrics.
