A beautiful craft I would love from my 11 year old daughter would be for her to make me a picture out of her current photo and dried pressed hand picked flowers. You need: 1. To go pick some flowers that you can press together in a heavy book and leave there till later you can use any type of flower you like, let it dry by just sticking it in your big book and setting something real heavy on top of it. 2. An old frame or at wal-mart they sell 8 by 10 frames for 2.00 3. Ivory or a light color construction paper that will match your picture or flowers. 4. you will need 1 pair of fancy sizzors, to fold your paper long ways and cut out a 5 by 7 square for the 5 by 7 picture of you or even better of you and your mom! 5. Place your cut paper over your picture and make sure it fits where you can't see any white trim from the photo. you may have to cut it a few times to get it just right. 6. Once you have the photo fitting right, turn it over and tape it down to the paper, just a couple pieces should hold it. Now flip it back to the front again. 7. Now go get your dried and flattened flowers and craft glue. 8. On the paper you want to put just a tiny bit of glue where you want your flat flowers to go, use a paint brush it will keep it from making big drops of glue, just smear on a very little bit. Place your flat flowers on top and set aside to let dry. 9. Place your whole project face down on your photo frame after you have removed the back (maybe make sure it is dry and clean) put your picture in, trim it if needed to fit inside. Close the back hinges over it to keep it in place and go wrap it in a box with plastic bags so it wont break. This would be a treasure forever for mom. Good job for you! Deciding to make it instead of buy it!!! It does mean so much more!!!! Maybe get a friend to do it with you or ask your neighbor for help, or dad, or grandma!

OK, if you and your mom argue a lot, you can give her a 10 pack of YOU'RE RIGHT, I'M WRONG cards. Or, you can do what I'm doing, I'm going to give her a 10 pack of GET THE HELL OFF WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND DO...... And she can show one and she can say like, Do the dishes, or do the trash, or do the laundry. We argue a lot and she argues that I procrastinate with stuff and she HATES that so much. She will love it!!!! Good Luck!

Ugh, I think you would like a more constructive answer. So I searched online, because I would believe you want to make something more than a card that says Merry Christmas, but for added fun, I believe you should make a card. Use the glue to add glitter and shine, and use the scissors to make a creative border out of the cloth. There's a bunch of ideas on this website: http://www.daniellesplace.com/HTML/christmas.html I like the peppermint photo frame, and instead of stick you can use the cloth to add color. :) I thought since you have paper, you can try origami. It's actually more simple than you think. I'm not sure how construction paper will make it turn out, but it's worth a try. http://www.origami-club.com/en/xmas/index.htm I hope I helped some!

You mentioned that you have fabric, Something I did when I was 12 was to cut squares of several different fabrics and sewed them together to make a little pillow which I stuffed with fabric scraps.

Whatever you give your mom will be loved! You can get yourself a large rock and paint a ladybug on it for her garden or a pot decoration! Also, have you tried knitting? I was a knitter at your age, it's not hard! A simple garter stitch scarf (that's only 1 stitch you have to do, the knit stitch every row) is well within a beginner's possibility. I love www.knittinghelp.com with it's forum and videos to help you see exactly what you should be doing. If you do go that route, take up continental knitting (yarn in left hand) rather than throwing (yarn in right hand), it's much easier and faster. Good luck!

i like AmeAnn's photoframe idea. if you want to go 3-D, you can even use potpourri flowers & herbs to adorn the picture. but of ocurse, framing will be difficult unless you adorn only the frame with the sweet-smelling flowers. you can make a set of papier mache bowls/containers for your mom to keep little stuff/trinkets in. blow up a balloon & cover half of it [depending on the size of bowl you want] with 3 layers of kitchen roll/newspaper strips using PVA glue diluted in water. for a flat base, tape a piece of construction paper or cardboard & then start the layering. when it is completley dry - 3-4 days, you can paint/color over it or adorn it with your fabric scraps [making a sort of collage picture] - inside & outside. newspaper will give you a smooth surface; kitchen roll or tissue paper will give you a textured surface. choose accordingly. you can make rag rug out of fabric strips. cut little strips out of the cloth. tie each to a strong yarn/rope/string using a single knot. the knots should remain on the underside with the 2 loose ends on top giving it a mattressy/carpety feel. once you have a decent length, sew it in concentric circle or any shape you want. here's a link i found that gives you detailed instructions on how to make a rolled magazine frame. instead of magazines, you can use your construction paper strips to roll & glue. youcan also make patterns with your markers before rolling or after gluing & drying. you can center this frame with photograph, mirror, a message/quotation, etc. It looks really great. http://www.homemadesimple.com/en_US/home... all you need are old magazines & a shoe-box lid [may be your construction paper will suffice?]. Rolled Magazine Picture Frame Instructions Step 1: Cutting & Rolling You’ll start out by cutting magazine pages into strips that are about 3 inches wide. They don’t have to be perfect, but try to keep them relatively straight. You’ll want to cut about 60 strips, depending on the size of your shoebox lid. You can even create a unified theme by only cutting out strips in certain colors, strips with white boarders, or multi-colored strips. Advertisements tend to work best because they often use vibrant, solid colors. Once you have your strips, you can start the rolling process. Take one corner of each strip and roll as tightly as you can, at a diagonal, to create straw-like sticks. You can tighten your roll once it is created by twisting it in your hands. Right after you roll and twist, use a small amount of decoupage glue with a brush to tack down the ends and the corner of loose paper. Use your fingers to smooth out the edges and glue. Don’t use too much glue though, so your sticks remain somewhat flexible. Step 2: Cutting Time Once you have all of your sticks rolled, cut off the ends with a craft knife, to make sure they have even ends. You may need to use a little extra decoupage glue to make sure they stay rolled. Use your pencil to trace a square onto the back of your shoebox lid that is approximately 1/4” smaller all the way around than the photo size you plan you plan to use. If you want you can also create two or more holes for photos by centering them and measuring an even distance between each window. Using your craft knife or a box cutter, very carefully cut the square out of the box lid. Step 3: The Glue Process Before gluing your sticks to the lid, cut out a few pages from a magazine to cover it. This helps make it easier to adhere the sticks to the lid. Using your brush, cover the lid on all sides with a thin layer of decoupage glue, and then cover with pieces of magazine pages cut to size. Try to make sure that you smooth out any bubbles or ridges so the sticks can lay flat on top. Now you’re ready to start gluing your sticks onto your lid. Lay out some of the sticks on the lid to decide how you’d like to arrange them around the picture windows. You’ll need to use your scissors to cut some of the sticks to size so you can attach them around the holes. Next, brush decoupage glue length-wise or side-to-side along the lid depending on your chosen arrangement. Attach your magazine sticks to the glue, placing them flush against each other, side-by-side. Be sure to not press too hard as you glue them down so they can retain their rounded shape. Simply hold together, gently pressing to make sure they stick. You’ll want to keep gluing and attaching your sticks until the whole lid is covered. Step 4: Finish the Frame Once you finished gluing your sticks to the frame, take it to a well-ventilated area and spray with an even coat of polyurethane. This seals it and gives it a glossy shine. Make sure to follow any safety instructions listed on the bottle of polyurethane when using. Once the frame is dry, use clear tape to secure the photo behind the window you cut out earlier. Tape down the top and bottom securely. Now your frame is ready to hang and display! hope some of these inspire you w

Do you have card and photographs and decorative paper. If so, how about a memory book with photos of you and your mom. They are very easy to make ( I would be happy to give you instructions via email) and I know ( as a mom myself) that she would just LOVE it. Margaret
