What does joint size mean?

Knitting!! With lace yarn using the large size. What does it mean?

• The red sample was knitted with lace yarn using the large size, The green sample was knitted with fingering yarn using the larger size. The purple was knitted with fingering yarn using the smaller size. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Due to my identity as a non-native English speaker, I don't understand what does "knitted with lace yarn using the large size". Could you kindly explain it to me?
