What to put in a scrapbook for a band?

How do I put a scrapbook together?

  • For my Black History Month project, I have to create a biographical scrapbook about Josephine Baker. I have all my information about her, but I don't know how to put it together. What is one supposed to buy for a scrapbook? I know I have to buy an album, but what else? What kinds of paper do I need and what embellishments do I buy? At the end when I'm all done with my pages, how do I put it together in a book format?

  • Answer:

Yes, the answer you have been given is a good one. I would just go a couple of steps further: Buy your kit (find one that has papers, ribbon, other embellishments in it that goes with the colours of your photos or your theme). Decide if you want the album to be a moody, dark one, or a lighter, more cheerful one etc. Choose colours and patterns that go with the mood of the album. Think about the photos and how they tell a story. Even write a story to go with the photos you have then arrange the photos in order so they tell the story. Lay out the papers from your kit across your table or floor so that you can see them all and start putting them in the order that suits the story and photos. Lay the photos down as you go, along with the part of the story that goes with those photos. Add embellishments in where you like them. Stack all the pages, photos and embellishments together in order, and place them in a box. Now you can just take the top layer out and start working on it. As you complete each page, place it in your album. You should have a beautifully put together scrapbook by the end, Here are a few more tips for making scrapbooks: http://www.papercraftcentral.com/scrapbooking.html http://www.papercraftcentral.com/how-to-make-a-scrapbook.html http://www.papercraftcentral.com/scrapbooking-tips.html HTH

Well at the craft store there will be a while aisle for scrapbooking. You have to get a book. Once you get a book, get some paper that is the same dimensions as your book. There will also be tons of kinds of stickers and kits, if you see any that look relevant you can certainly get those and I would suggest buying at least one package of letters. After you have all that you should gather up all your pictures and whatever together. Cut all the pictures out and arrange them on the page and once you have them where you like start gluing them down one by one. Each page should have a coherent theme. Hope that helps!

If you don't want to purchase an album, you can always use a 3-ring notebook binder with sheet protectors - which you can purchase separately an any office supply store. Get one with the clear plastic over the cover and you can put a piece of paper in there to make a nice cover design. As you finish each page, you can slide it down into a sheet protector. That would make your scrapbook pages 8 1/2 x 11 inches, but if you want to go bigger there are a lot of other scrapbook album sizes 8x8, 12x12 (the most popular) and there is also 8 1/2 x 11. All purchased scrapbooks come with 10 page protectors and that will give you a total of 20 pages. Just like putting things into regular sheet protectors, that is how you would assemble your scrapbook pages into an album. If you need more pages you can always purchase more to fit your album. Here's a link to some more information about types of scrapbook albums. Using 8 1.2 x 11 might make it easier in the event you may want to print something off on a printer as that size will fit any printer. Here's the link to some more info about the albums. At the bottom you can see some album types. http://www.scrapbook-advice.com/Scrapbook-Photo-Album.html#axzz1nAeKrj2F Here's a 10-step quick start guide to basic scrapbooking for beginners. This starts with step 10 about albums, but you can find links to all 10 steps at the bottom of the page. http://www.scrapbook-advice.com/scrapbooking-for-beginners-10.html#axzz1nAeKrj2F Since you are doing this for a school project, you may not need to worry about how long this will last, so don't be too worried about using scrapbook or archivaly safe scrapbook products which are a little more expensive that just regular paper. But, there is a huge selection of everything scrapbooking related that, while more expensive, does give you a great selection. Good Luck on your project.
