How to decorate a diary?

Do you decorate both sides of 12x12 scrapbook album paper?

  • I just bought me a 12x12 scrapbook album with those plastic protectors and the individual sheets inside them. I'm very new at scrapbooking, and I've always just decorated on regular journal/diary books. But now I want to get into the real deal, so my question is, should I decorate both the front and back side of the sheets or just leave one side blank? Thanks in advance.

    In general I only do one side because I tend to scrap my photos out of order and like to be able to easily move them around... but if I plan an entire album out before hand, then I might do both sides (as long as it's card stock) to cut down on the amount of paper I need to use and the thickness of the total finished album.

It's entirely up to you! Most nice scrapbooks I've seen are just like normal books, stuff is on both sides of the page so that when it lays flat the two facing pages are a complete entry or theme. All i would say is to just watch how bulky you make your pages so they fit back inside the plastic

i typically leave the sheets in the page protectors and make my decorated page out of a different piece of 12x12 paper, then I slide my page in over the existing page and I do the same thing on the other side of the existing paper.

I always did just one side. If you want to change it around it is easier to have only one side to deal with.

it all depends on the paper and what i am doing with it. some times i do thought. i find it all depends on the prints on the paper.

You decorate only one side of each page, then you slip 2 pages back to back into the plastic page protector.
