Where can I sell my lladro sculptures online?

Do these sculptures look good enough to sell?

  • I have been thinking about making sculptures of different sorts to sell for money to buy more clay. I'm 14 so money is in short supply and I was wandering if I was good enough to start selling them to the public. My Mom says they look good but I need an outside opinion. Here is a sampel of my work: http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll213/spacecadet09/Sculptures011.jpg Please tell me what you think.

I do dragons wrapped around semi precious stones, 'rock gardens' (polished large pebbles with polymer leaves and flowers on them, complete with a little bug and semi precious stone chips and glass beads in there), bright little geckos and lizards with a spot of double sided tape on the feet so they can be stuck to windows, small round tins covered and decorated with various animals curled around them, from dragons to fish to birds and some just decorated. My most popular mini sculptures have been cartoony combo animals, a quakeraffe- giraffe head and neck on a ducks body, a doggypillar- caterpillar body with a dogs head, a catfish- cats head on a fish. Have a look and a go at some of the lessons on the sites, its fun if nothing else. I like your lizard looking ones, but the faces need more detail, and if i was gonna paint them, i would use a smaller brush, and invest in a good quality jewellers file, and an emery board. Polymer clay can be sculpted quite easily after baking, using a sharp tissue blade knife and filing down any rough spots before painting. But the best bit of advice i was given, never bake as soon as you finish, put it down and go back to it the next day to see if you would change any thing, i always do change something. Have you tried the colored sculpey instead of painting? Good luck. Ps, try to support the wings on something before baking, i use some folded up bakers paper, just so they dont sag down so much.

They look spiffy, I would buy them if you were selling and if you lived near me.

yeah they look really good people but things worse than that for a lot of money, but no these are good, and if they are ceramic, or white clay i know how hard it is to make these!

Nice! Do you have any craft markets near where you live? A stall can be expensive but they might give you a junior's discount :)

Ghost_9

Did you actually scupt them, or just paint them?

They look very promising! good work. Selling crafts is always a tricky thing. I was the buyer for a local craft gallery for years and I can give you an idea of what you need to do to make them sellable. Pay attention to all of your edges and joints. everything should be clean and seamless, even the bottoms. They should look handmade but not messy or unfinished. The white one in your picture for example has a beautifully textured body and delicate face, I love the little gems, but the wings look unfinished. The black and gold one in your picture looks well crafted but the gold paint is messy and not even in thickness or line. Basically clean them up ----you are almost there!!!!!!

yeah they're good

Are you using molds? If so, you can't sell them because they are someone else's design. .
