Where to buy Zippo or Ronson lighter fluid under the age of 18?

• okay so the other day i walked into Walgreen's and bought myself a zippo. And i was excited when i opened it up until i noticed that it doesn't come with any fluid. I thought to myself "hmm well yeah that makes sense, they wouldn't want it to spontaneously combust while it is being shipped and the fuel would have dried up by then" so i went to save mart and i asked where they kept the zippo lighter fluid and she was walking me to where they had it but then she turned and asked me "wait, do you have your ID with you? They're going to have to check it." (im 15) and i replied "oh, you need to have your ID" and she said yeah. I have three questions 1) Why in the hell would they not card me when buying the zippo, but you must be 18 and have proof to get the fluid to actually USE THE FRICKEN LIGHTER? 2) Does anyone know how to get the lighter fluid underage or without any ID? 3) Why did she hesitate to ask me how old i was. This happened to me many times. I ask for something you must be 18 to buy they pull it out ready to sell it but then they just remeber "Oh wait, you have your ID with you?" Is it maybe that i appear to be 18 but they just want to make sure? Or is this a common thing? Because i would assume they would say "sorry kid, you gotta be 18" but i have never been told that. I even (just to test it out) went into 7/11 and asked for cigarettes (i was gunna resell them if i got them) and he was just about to hand them to me and asked "wait, you have your ID with you? i gotta check for the camera." So yeah is it because i look all mature and manly and what not? n_n if you can, answer all three questions please and thank you :D oh yeah, and for thoes of you who are going to ask why would a kid even need a zippo? to smoke? yada yada yada! im not using it for smoking, i to wood carving and a lighter really comes in handy at times :)

  Lighter fluid is simply naphtha. They put it in a different bottle and mark it up 300%. You can buy naphtha anywhere that sells hardware or paint. However, they may want to see ID there too. Perhaps have an adult buy it for you if you are using it for legitimate purposes instead of underage smoking?
