I want to build a gas engine RC car?
-
I do not want a glow engine. Lets say i know nothing about this, is there a kit? is there a specific brand? I know nitro is glow, but is Traxxas glow as well? what type of engine should I buy? Is there a website that can tell me everything I need to know? Is this going to be difficult to do?

Answer:
The best way to start any hobby is by buying a kit. There are finished models needing no assembly, almost ready to run kits, and plans only drawings. The TRX 3.3 Racing Engine used in the Traxxas RC car is a glow plug 2 cycle engine. It is lighter and more powerful than a four stroke engine. Even the 4 stroke engines usually use glow plugs (source 2) instead of a spark plug. Only the largest RC models occasionally use a pure gasoline powered, 4 cycle, spark plug engine. Start small, and if you like the hobby, move up to more advanced models.
