I need help identifying a coin...?
-
I have a half-dollar I can't identify. On the obverse it shows the New York harbor with the Statue of Liberty as well as a ship. "Liberty" & "In God We Trust" with an issue date of 1986, mint mark S. On the reverse four people standing on a dock with the city in the background. "United States of America" "A nation of Immigrants" E Pluribus Unum" & "Half Dollar" Any help would be very much appreciated.

Answer:
From the redbook - Statue of Liberty Half Dollar - it is the first copper-nickel clad half-dollar commemorative half-dollar depicting the US's heritage as a nation of immigrants. The "S" indicates that it is a proof coin. In PR-67 condition, its value is around $7. The commemorative coins were made mostly for collecting and not for circulation although some have found their way into circulation.
