I want to learn how to play guitar...but i don't know anything about guitars?

I want to learn how to play the kind of guitar in metal music. I have no idea what those kinds are called. I know how to play piano with notes and everything. What kind of guitar is the one i'm talking about? What brand is best and how much would they cost? Is there a website online that i can learn how to play for free?

Electronic guitar? Better buy a used one if you just start learning. Lots of people selling used guitar on craigslist There are lot of website offering tutorial. However they are pretty unorganized. Go to the library and look for those guitar for beginner books And check out youtube for video tutorial too However the best way to learn is to have someone teach you. You can try looking for lesson locally, or there are one on one guitar lesson online
