How To Get Members To A Forum?

How to get members for a forum?

• I am currently a moderator for a football(soccer) forum, although any topics of discussion are open. You can talk about technology, games, tell jokes, predict scores, we have an arcade, etc but we just can't attract members unfortunately. Does anyone know how to promote a small forum like ours? Any ideas? Even the most abstract will help.

  Hi Mart, You should first know that their are thousands of forums for each topic, so their will be 1000s of football forum which will be similar to yours. So, you should understand that, people just don't go registering on 1000s of forums, they only register in the forum where their are lot of interesting topics, articles going on and where their are lot of members. So, you seem to have a new forum, so i would suggest you to find some friends and create a some good topics and make a big interesting discussions. However, promoting website is also important, you can go into similar football forums and link your forums to it. This is my forum :- http://letschangeindia.in/ Even this is new, its related to Politics + Technology, managed to get 13 members till now :) One more important thing is that you can do comment exchange, like, go to similar forums and you comment on their topics in their forums and tell them to comment on your forums, so this way both will have members and good enough comments.
