How much is a double dated liberty silver dollar worth?

I found a walking liberty silver dollar coin dated 1905. The reverse looks like a bullion coin.?

  • It has a strong patina that makes it look old. I've spent some significant time searching for it on the internet, but have had no luck. Does anyone have some insight?

  • Answer:

No silver dollars were struck in 1905 and non ever had a walking liberty, that was for the 1/2 dollar 1916-1947. You must have what is called a silver round (actually a medal) that is also called a bullion coin. It should have on it the .999 fine silver and 1 troy ounce if not it may not be silver. Silver rounds have been with us since at least the 1960's. No one ever did any research on them so little is known and mintage figures non existant. No one knows which ones are actually rare. The value depends on the price of silver now $34.10 an ounce a dealer may offer $30. Since silver goes up and down a true value can only be obtained at a time of sale.
