What two colors make red?
-
I am playing a game where it is necessary to mix colors to make new colors. I need to know what two colors mixed together make red?

Answer:
As mentioned, "red" is a primary color of pigment (paints, for example, as opposed to colors of "light") so it can't be mixed from other colors. You CAN mix a *sorta* red though by combining magenta and yellow pigments, but the result won't be a strong clear true red like a primary red. If you want to read a bunch of "formulas" for mixing colors, you might want to check out this page at my site (it deals with mixing colors of polymer clay together, but would be mostly the same for paints, inks, etc.): http://glassattic.com/polymer/color.htm (...click on "Individual Colors," under the category "Recipes & Combos") HTH, Diane B.

It's impossible, red is a primary color, that means that no two colors can be mixed to make that color (other primary colors are Blue and Yellow) . Red is just a ray of reflected light, that's it. I think.

Red is a primary color, you can't mix 2 to get red. Blue is primary, too, and so is yellow. You can mix any of the above colors to make another color. ie: red and yellow make orange. red and blue make purple. blue and yellow make green. yellow and green make light green. white and red make pink. You can make a darker red by mixing red and green. You can make pink by adding white to red. Hope this helps.

Red is a primary color, it will be hard to find a combination of 2 colors to make red. The primary colors are blue, red and yellow. with these you can make any colors you wish.

Red is a primary color. It is what it is. No two colors mix together to make it. The same is true with blue and yellow.

There's no way to make pure red. It is a primary color. (Red, yellow, blue) Check out this link its really helpful! http://young-painters.blogspot.com/2007/08/color-terms-1.html

Red is one of the basic colors. It is not made with other colors. Some of the other basics are blue, yellow, black and white

red is a primary color. meaning you mix it with other colors to make new ones, not others colors to make it.

Red, along with yellow and blue are primary colors and cannot be achieved by mixing any other colors together.

For painting at least, Magenta and Yellow make red, it will never be a pure red, but it will get you through if you're low. It's called subtractive color mixing.
