How does super glue work?

Does super glue work on anything besides fingers?

  • Apparently I don't own anything that super glue works on. Except my skin. Does anyone have better luck than me?

    Yeah i use superglue all of the time when constructing models And the Spray the above poster mentioned is called Zip Kicker. Its a chemical accelerant that instantly hardens superglue. But if you have a tendency to get it on your hands i would recommend against it. The chemical reaction that hardens the glue produced ALOT of heat. Not enough to set you on fire, but you'll feel like it did. If you use it i recommend unscrewing the top and using the end of the pump "straw" to apply very little "drops" to the point of contact.

It also works on superglueing quarters on sidewalks! A girl I worked with did that to see how many people tried to pick it up in front of a convenience store and in the process also super glued her fingers together.

Excellent for repairs of minor cuts. Really bonds skin well! But non-porous surfaces that really mesh well do ok.

Have to agree with Kamin_Ma, I use super glue on styrene and vinyl model kits. I've also used it to fix rubber on shoes and assorted plastic household items. I wouldn't recommended it for wood, fabric, paper or other porous items. You might want to try a brand like Duro Quick Gel, which doesn't tend to run all over the place and get on your hands.

Try carpenters glue for wood, or Gorrilla glue for other items... Good Luck...

it works on wood for me. you should try using that spray that speeds it up.... it forgot what its called. but it makes it dry faster.

some suprglu works by using the humidity on stuff that u are gluing ergo skin is ideal, and wood, you may want to try some other polymer
