How do you make multicolored homemade crayons?

How to make crayons.?

  • I saw a video on how to make crayons and I thought it looked really cool so I tried it. It turned out horrible! I couldn't find any old crayons at the time so I just bought a cheap dollar box of crayons. I could tell they weren't the best when I opened them.. all the colors seemed very dull and just ugly! And they broke very easily. But I wanted to try it so I used a muffin tin and foil baking cups and I put them in the oven at the temperature that it has said. It said to put them in for about 5 minutes but they were barely starting to melt after 5 minutes so I left them in there. It took almost 20 minutes for them to melt all the way and even then there were a few where some of the crayons were not melted, but I took them out because they were smoking when I opened the oven.. And when they cooled there were a bunch of bubbles on the top and they break really easily. Did I do something wrong or was it just the cheap crayons? I found some old crayons that are crayola and I was thinking about trying those. Any tips..? I feel dumb asking this about making crayons but I wanted to start making some to maybe sell. In different shapes like animals of course but yeah.. I'm 14 by the way. Thanks!
