How To Loom Knit?

Novice crafter looking for a loom device (like the knit wit, butterfly, knifty knitter) that's easy and good.

I have a knit wit and doodle loom set I just purchased. I find it cumbersome to make rosettes and it will take me FOREVER to make an afghan for my mom. Are there any knit or crochet crafters out there who have found a GOOD, EASY and AFFORDABLE tool that works. Any thoughts or ratings on the knit wit compared to the knifty knitter, butterfly loom or other tools would be great too! THANKS!

Keep in mind that an afghan is going to be fairly time consuming no matter what tool you use. My very favorite is the Super S Afghan loom from CinDWood crafts. I like it because it will make a 60" panel, but the unique shape makes it much more portable so that you can work on it anywhere. If that is more expensive than what you are looking for, you could get one of the OvalPanel looms and make your afghan in separate panels. That loom is about half the price of the other. Knifty Knitters are great for beginners, but as you gain more skills, there are better tools out there. I did not care for the butterfly loom, because the outcome does not look nearly as nice and professionally done as on a Knifty Knitter.
