How do you make new candles out of old candles?

How do you make new wicks for old candles?

  • I got some large old candles that the wick has burnt away but there is a huge amount of surrounding wax left. I am thinking about melting down the wax and putting in new wicks since I love the smell of the scented wax.

I've done this by just sticking a wooden match stick down into the wax and lighting it. This works better if you can coat the stick with wax first. Obviously, the stick needs a way to "wick" the wax up to where it will be burned in the flame, hence the coating.

you have to melt the wax then dip the wick into it until you get the right thickness.BUT BE VERY CAREFUL,IT WILL BE HOT !!!!!
