Where can I take my mom in Philly where we will both have fun?

What are some fun hobbies to take up for a stay at home mom?

    EBAY! This kept me busy the 1st year and a half I stayed home. It was fun for awhile. You won't make a ton of money but- a little helps and you can get rid of stuff. I find that I go from hobby to hobby...recently I ran out out stuff to do also, and I started working out- now I like it. Tried cooking- but boring. Read some good self help books and improve your parenting, social skills, etc. Get some audio books and listen to them as you do your chores. Get a subscription to Family Fun magazine...it has tons of fun ideas to do with your family also online... ttp://familyfun.go.com/ Do some pretend school sessions with kids, doing a theme of the week and a letter of the day- etc. Playgroups. Library. Nature walks. Shopping. Try getting creative and learn jewelry making or scrapbooking. Keep learning. Good luck!

Have a go at everything to find out what you like. Join the local library and read read read. Other good home hobbies are gardening, knitting, sewing, learning a musical instrument, cooking-heaps of stuff to learn and enjoy. Growing food is excellent-saves money,saves having to go to the shops and the food tastes so much better. Start off small and have fun.

I absolutely love making cards for family and friends, i started making them over a year ago. I was bored one day and decided to go to my local craft shop, i got a pack of cards and envelopes, various colours and sizes, i then got some Anita stickers, with birthdays, anniversarys, weddings and other celebrations on, and then got some 3d peel off pictures and wording, you can use anything that you find lying around the house, i have used string, cotton wool, i just got a card and started gluing and sticking, a year on and im selling to all my family, friends and when i go to my local pub to play darts i take them with me. I love making cards and i get paid for doing it, people ring me up and i make the card.

it depends on how much you want to spend. scrapbooking and quilting can both be very expensive hobies. cross stitch, crochet, & knitting tend to be less expensive (mostly just because the materials used are less). gardening is what you make of it - you can use only $1-3 flowers all over and keep it ver inexpensive. i know as a stay at home mom expense can be an issue, but remember, if you pick up a craft you can usually find a craft show you can sell your stuff at. i got all of my family to chip in and buy me a sewing machine for my bday one year so that was a big expense i didn't have (janome is a newer brand, but it is very good & reasonably priced... better than a singer for quilting)
