Is this an inner ear infection?

Inner ear infection and very concerned?

  • I have a inner ear infection and saw the doctor on Monday. But concerned.? The doctor gave me ear drops and amoxicillin for my throat. Three days have past and my throat feels better. My ear feels like there is water stuck in it, kinda hard of hearing as well through the ear. I guess you would say if feels clogged up. Should I be feeling this when i am using my prescripted ear drops? It is not painful but annoying. What could it be or what should I do?

  • Answer:

We don't take the doctor's antibiotics for ear infections. Just say no thanks. I have a son allergic to them, so we had to research an alternative. What we came us with was way more effective than their antibiotics. Get some Grapefruit Seed Extract, liquid form, from your local health food store (or online at http://www.iherb.com - nutribiotic is the brand, use code KES097 for $5 off if a new customer - not affiliated) Put 5 drops of GSE in 3 oz of water. Pour or drop some into the affected ear every couple of hours until the pain, discomfort is gone. Doesn't have to be done any more once you feel better. Use same dilution for infected throats, just gargle with it. It can be swallowed.

You might try an over-the-counter decongestant (like Sudafed) to help dry up the congestion in your head. When you lay down, make sure that the affected ear is up. That also might help drain fluid away from the eardrum.
