Peppermint tea for singing?

Peppermint tea ; Spearmint tea : Same qualities?

• I was told drinking Spearmint tea helps balancing out hormones and helps with the issue of too much hair on your body for comfort (am female) My mother was at the store and grabbed some peppermint tea and said there was no spearment tea Will peppermint tea have the same quality and effects to help with hormone balance? Thanks

  I have never heard of either Spearmint or Peppermint having any influence on hormones or body hair. The only property nowhere closely related to this is that they both have a stimulant action on the uterus (as well as other parts and systems in the body) and hence are not recommended in therapeutic doses for pregnant women, or those with excessive menstrual bleeding. They have very similar properties in other regards, such as antiseptic, antispasmodic, carminative, stomachic etc. There are some differences - Peppermint has a higher camphor and menthol content, so it is better at clearing congestion than spearmint. Spearmint has a more relaxing effect on the nervous system whereas peppermint is more of a stimulant. Spearmint helps the body to rid excess water through urine, whereas with Peppermint, more of the water is shed through the pores as sweat. Where did you read that it had any influence on hormones?
