Why do people think that green tea doesn't contain caffeine?
-
I asked a question with regards to quitting caffeine, and using ginseng instead. I realise this is swapping a stimulant, for a stimulant, but that is the whole point. I still want a boost first thing in the morning. But without all the side effects of caffeine. I believe through research that ginseng could be the solution. (and seems to be working so for the past 6 days) I am not using ginseng for its erectile dysfunction (possible) benefits-and tbh haven't noticed random erections (thankfully lol) But people keep suggesting green tea!? IT CONTAINS CAFFEINE PEOPLE! YES YOU ARE STILL PART OF THE 90% OF THE WORLD WHO USE THE DRUG CAFFEINE DAILY!! Are these people aware, that if they leave the green tea brewing long enough, that it could release as much caffeine as a cup of black tea? And maybe even a cup of coffee? One other question (as I have always loved the taste of coffee) does decaffinated coffee contain any caffeine at all? I have become pessimistic towards claims of 'no caffeine' since finding out green tea contains it. Thanks

Answer:
Ignorance. Caffeine in moderation isn't harmful. Some studies actually show caffeine has specific health benefits.

I didn't realize people thought that lol wow And yes, decaf generally does still contain caffeine. It's a small amount, but still there. I know an older gent who can't have any caffiene at all for health reasons, and decaf is out too. Also, most decaf coffees (and teas) are processed using chemicals, which obviously isn't good for you. Some is water processed, but they are harder to find and usually more expensive, and again still have some caffiene

You are wrong that if you leave green tea brewing for long enough that it will contain the same amount of caffeine or more than black tea. Caffeine comes from the oxidisation process of making tea. Hence why the natural form (white) contains much less than the slightly processed (green) which contains less than the heavily processed (black). Of course strains make it vary.
I do coffee retention enemas twice a week. I notice the effects are much more calming than drinking coffee. Instant pain killer. Wonderful, energetic feeling. Clean colon, liver, gaul bladder and pancreas. No jitters.

People think that green tea is healthy, and healthy means no caffeine. People are far to trusting without reading labels. Decaf coffee does contain caffeine. Just less of it.

Options: 1 Drink decaf coffee - lower caffeine and good for weaning yourself off coffee 2 Drink green tea - if you have a cup in the morning and have it moderate strength the caffeine should not be that much of a concern. Make sure you have organic though to avoid pesticides. 3 Drink a coffee replacement - health shops have various substitutes which do not contain caffeine 4 Drink a healthy shake like Fruitein - made from various plants, veg and superfoods and includes ginseng 5 Get some korean ginseng powder from ebay from korean sellers - you mix a tiny spoon of it with hot water (really small amount). I do the last two and can feel the general health benefits. I occassionally have a cup of green tea.

I agree that green tea also contains caffeine. But if you warm (if you just stop before boiling) and filter immediately caffeine content will be much less.Tests made at 50 degree and 80 degree celsius definitely prove that green tea is safer. But if you drink ginseng it is a much stronger stimulant. It gives a feel good feeling. It gives some energy. But prolonged use of ginseng will result in reducing fertility/sperm count. In those people who drink ginseng fertility rate is low, sperm counts less.In Nepal it is known for restricting reproduction. It peps up erection but reduces sperm count. The tall claims of benefits of ginseng are yet to be proved.

Because people are idiots who dont do any research and just come to conclusions based on nothing. And yes decaffeinated coffee has low amounts of caffeine in it as well. If you drink several cups of decaffeinated coffee you could easily consume as much caffeine as a single cup of caffeinated coffee. This is many people who "quit" caffeine still drink decaffeinated coffee every morning. Theyre tolerance lowers and the low amount of caffeine in it still has an effect and thus a slight addiction. Also chocolate has caffeine in it as well.
