What does vitamin b-12 do?

Does vitamin b6 or vitamin b12 have anything to do with hairgrowth? If not, what pills/vitamins will?

  • Im wondering if vitamin b6 or vitamin b12 have any effect on hairgrowth? Will the help speed the rate of your hair growing? Or maybe if you lack a deficiency in vitamin b's, will they help you grow more hair? If not, are there any other vitamins/pills that might help with hairgrowth? Thanks in advance.

    It depends on the reason for your hair loss. If it is natural male baldness then I wouldn't expect vitamins to make any difference. However, if you have alopecia, then this can certainly be caused by a B12 or other mineral deficiency, such as zinc or magnesium. It is safe to supplement with B12 but I wouldn't do it for zinc or magnesium as you can take too much of these. Best idea is to get your levels properly tested to see if any of those mentioned are deficient.
