Do acai berries really work?
-
and how long do they take to work
-
Answer:
Work for what exactly? Acai is a fantastic antioxidant, so it helps to protect the cells from free radical damage, but the claims about it helping with weight loss are rather inflated. I've heard that it has some appetite suppression activity, but I haven't read any proof of that claim. The hardest thing with Acai is that it's a big fad in the market right now, so there are a lot of people and companies making baseless claims to sell more of their product at higher prices before the fad is over. Until I see some proof of that, I would be cautious about claims like that and they are most likely losing weight from exercise and diet, not the Acai they are taking at the same time. We have a number of customers every day that ask if it would help them lose weight and I tell them the same thing. I'd rather we not sell a product than for them to have false hope and be upset at us that they didn't lose weight with it. On a similar note, I would also be careful about all the ads and "free trials" for it. Unfortunately, most of them require your credit card number and charge huge amounts for the "second shipping" (and all the automated shipments after that) that they send shortly after the free trial. You can try any of them, but I would recommend buying some from a health food store from a good brand to make sure you avoid the chance of being scammed. Good luck and I hope I helped!

What do you want it to do, are you taking it for weight loss? or just to improve your health? I just asked my mom what it did for her, because she has been taking acai pills for a month now. For her it didn't help increase energy or make her feel any different....but the pills did increase her bowel movements(about one after every meal)....and she wasn't taking it to lose weight but she did a little when she first started taking it. Her friend is also taking acai berries and she claims that it has made her more energetic and improved her overall health(but she herself said that she is unsure if it is just a placebo effect...). It doesn't have negative effects so it wouldn't hurt to try it, but would you be wasting your money on something that doesn't make much of a difference?....I don't know. Anyway, Acai Berry pills is a fad right now...with all the advertisements, especially all the hype on the Oprah show, so people probably feel that they need it. If you want to lose weight the way to do it is with a healthy diet and exercise.
