Around how much does a massage therapist make?

• I would really like to be a massage therapist. But I need to know how much they make. I need between 2500 and 3000 per month to pay my bills. I google and google and only find results for massage therapists that are self employed. I am more interested in being employed at a spa or something along those lines. I know those types don't receive tips. Any massage therapists out there?! How much would non self employed get paid monthly?

  You will make approximately 1/2 of what the spa charges the client. Although you have to be there for your shift, you may or may not have clients. Many of the MTs I know have quit because they made less than minimum wage. Good idea to have another source of income as a back up. Don't know where you live, but in the mid-west you would not meet your financial goal even in a chiropractors office. Spas in this area also generally only let you work alternate days so your hands and body can rest.
