Hey Janie, this link might be of use to you buddy ~ http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2009/02/03/five-smart-strategies-to-lower-your-blood-pressure-naturally.aspx an excerpt from the previous link ~ "........ if your hypertension is the direct result of an out-of-control blood sugar level, then normalizing your blood sugar levels will also bring your blood pressure readings into the healthy range" Dehydration can contribute to high blood pressure by making your veins and arteries work far harder than they should have to ..... hydrate yourself properly and ditch any sodas, pop or soft drinks and cut right back on caffeine and alcohol too if you drink any as they'll all dehydrate you terribly and rob you of your essential B complex of vitamins and vitamin C as well as leach the calcium straight out of your bones by disrupting the calcium phosphorus balance...... vitamin C rich foods will assist in lowering high blood pressure as will foods rich in magnesium soooo eat more leafy and green vegies which are rich in vitamin C, B vitamins, calcium and magnesium, fibre, water ........ eat them raw or lightly steamed as cooking devitalises them. Ditch eating processed salt as it will contribute enormously to high blood pressure .......... replace table salt which has been processed with chlorine and bleach and pulverised to within an inch of its life and been stripped of all the rich minerals it once contained with celtic sea salt ....... pure, mineral rich and very good for you ...... sodium works in conjunction with potassium in the human body to regulate water levels and normalise heart rhythms .......... potassium works inside the cells, sodium works outside them ... you need it .... you don't need the processed table salt variety. http://himalayansalt.com.au/celticseasalt.htm Ditch eating prepackaged foods as much as possible and prepare fresh fruit and vegies and some lean meats and fishes as often as possible ........ packaged foods contain a ghastly amount of processed salt and highly refined man made nutritionally void white sugar. Find ways to effectively manage your stress levels such as exercise, yoga, meditation, singing, dancing, laughing ... hey, anything that makes you feel good. make sure you get enough sleep daily and try not to do everything yourself ...... get family members to share the load. eat freshly crushed garlic too ........ garlic is good for boosting immunity, is an antispasmotic, lowers cholesterol and blood pressure and also works as an anti inflammatory .......... wonderfull stuff, particularly if you can tolerate it crushed and raw ....... raw garlic works best as a powerfull antibiotic that fights bacteria, parasites and viruses ... garlic is also good for heart disease (two or three cloves a day lessen the chance of heart attacks) and stroke and it contains many preventive, anticancer compounds and antioxidants (raw, cooked, or aged at best). Garlic is also good for colds (decongestant and expectorant) and works as an antidiarrheal...... it helps relieve gas, is estrogenic and works as an antidepressant too ..... fabulous stuff hey......... crush it and mix it through in small amounts to start with (or it may upset your digestion) through your vegies, meat and salads.... ensure though that you listen to your body when you eat any food that you are not accustomed to eating ........ i ate freshly crushed garlic for ages until i realised it was the cause of my random stomach aches and eventually nasty arthritic pains in my fingers and wrists ........... so yeah, i don't eat it anymore but maybe you can. peace baby ♥

You will help reduce your blood pressure by going on a low-fat vegetarian diet. You need some oils/fats in your diet, but it's optimal to get just a little bit of oil each day and avoid saturated fats in meat and milk. Also, milk is not the best source of calcium. Please begin eating leafy green vegetables instead. Avoid soy and milk because these contain genetically modified ingredients. They are not necessary for a healthy diet. Prepare beans from dry. Eat brown rice and whole grains. Eat fruits and vegetables whole. It's best to avoid pre-packaged foods because of excitotoxins that are often labeled as "natural flavors" or other innocuous names. After you change your diet, you need to begin an aerobic exercise program for that leads up to about 1 hour per day of exercise, 5 days per week. Make sure to monitor your heart rate to keep it in a zone that your doctor recommends.
