What is the most powerful antioxidant out there?

  • Antioxidants and other cancer preventers? anyone know what the best antioxidant out there is, I have heard of green tea, gogi berries, olive leaf extract among lots more, anyone know the best one and the best cancer preventer, I am hearing different things for vitamin D.

    I believe that goji berries are the strongest plant based antioxidant, but at the same time if you eat a diet full of colorful fresh vegetables you get about the same benefit. However, the strongest anti oxidant you can get is a chemical called DMSO (which you apply via your skin and enters the bloodstream). It's non toxic provided the dmso was pure (ie. no plastic contamination, applied to a clean patch of skin). DMSO has lots of cool properties, but one of the top 5 ones is that it's the strongest antioxidant which exists.

Hi there.....I'm not sure if you have cancer or someone you know has cancer. Antioxidants will not help much AFTER you have cancer. You can't take enough. "Free radicals" are running around in your system constantly. They are the biproducts of the many poisons we bombard our bodies with daily, including: smoking anything, eating foods that are smoked, all different kinds of preservatives that we eat daily, any aluminum or copper, or other metal pan we cook with except stainless steel.....This even includes old iron cookware, and the newer "coated" cookware. They all give off molecules of metals that bombard our system,....let me see,... most artificial colorings, as well. Any smog situation, and exposure to the sun or tanning booths. Doesn't matter which, they both bombard your skin with cancer causing radiation. That is what "cooks" your skin into that golden tan. That is about all I can think of from the top of my head. Now then, back to your question. There are vitamins out there that boast they are "antioxidants". If you were to Google the word, I would imagine all sorts of things would come up, even those companies and/or people that want you to buy their particular product and boast of it's mysterious miracles. A VERY good moneymaker for THEM, if they pray on folks like you. Vitamin A, E, C are the biggest antioxidants. One shouldn't take supplements, however, unless they have researched and know what they are doing. Vit. A and E are NOT water soluble which means what your body does not use today is stored in your liver and is cumulative, which means you can get too much of a good thing after awhile and actually 'poison' yourself. Never take more than 10,000 mg. Vit A/day. Never take more than 400 IU Vit E/day. (Vit. E also can raise your blood pressure. If you have hypertension, watch your BP. As your body comes used to Vit E, you can slowly increase it. Vit. C is "water soluble". That means, what you take in today is used by the body and you will urinate away any excess. You need to take it in daily. The Vitamin bottles and the labels on your products will list the "MDR" (minimum daily requirement) for sustaining life. We all would like to take in more than the minimum. Green leafy veggies have loads of Vit. A and C. If you were to look in www.webmd.com, or google the different vitamins, you will also find lots of suggestions of foods that are high in nutrients. It is always better to eat healthy to obtain your vitamins/minerals. Fish is very good and contains the fish oils that are wonderful antioxidants and offer good heart health as well. If you eat healthy, you're immune system will be functioning at it's best, along with taking in a healthy amount of fluids, limiting refined sugars, and fats of all kinds. Exercise daily, get plenty of fresh air and maintain your weight in the range for your body size and age, and get 8 hours sleep per night and you have the best defenses against cancer and all kinds of serious illnesses. You can be "predisposed" to Cancer (as well as high blood pressure, diabetes, kidney disease, gall stones, etc) if you have a family history of the disease. What you can do is eliminate the factors that can trigger your predisposition. That is, if there is a family history of high blood pressure, you are likely to get it if you allow yourself to become overweight, eat a lot of fats (including fried foods and oils), eat lots of salt. If there is a family history of diabetes, you are likely to get it if you allow yourself to become overweight, eat lots of sugary foods, do not exercise, etc. If there is a family history of Cancer, well......you get the idea. Get regular check ups from your MD and follow the above advice to remain in top healthy condition Sorry so long. I am an RN

There are many antioxidants you can get from food: Broccoli, bilberry, blue berry, kale, etc. But grape seed extract is reported to be the most powerful antioxidant. I want to find one myself but haven't been looking because I hate shopping around for stuff when I don't have the money for it anyway, From what I have concluded I would say a liquid with several berries like acai, pomegranate, manganese, amino acids and trace minerals. Find one that doesn't contain binders and fillers like magnesium stearate, sodium benzonate, magnesium palmate,..................... I over did antioxidents a couple weeks ago. I had been taking them for months then I started getting a throbbing pain in my left temple. It felt like an artery pulsing. If you start getting a pain in your left temple you need to quit taking them because you got too much. Take vitamin D according to the directions on the bottle or less never more unless prescribed.
