You may try Melatrol, one of the supplements from HealthCare Boutique. Their products are 100% made of natural ingredients (this one, Melatrol has Melatonin, among other herbs and natural ingredients). It is not cheap but it is worth it (and you can get bottles free if you buy 2 or 3 I think). http://www.healthcare-boutique.com Good luck, Jean

You may need to take a closer look at what might be keeping you up. Have you tried drinking relaxing teas such as camomile and valerian? Some fresh hops to smell, might also help you. It is essential to avoid any caffeine, heavy meals and excess alcohol in the evening, if you want proper sleep.

Try melatonin, I usually take about 3, and its quite effective. All of the others you mentioned have diphenhydramine as the active ingredient, and can actually cause stimulation and sleeplessness if you exceed the recommended dose.

Even Nytol becomes addictive and tends to make the problem worse so that you have even more problem sleeping without it. Try adding some lavender oil to your bath and put a few drops on your pillow. It is quite sedative. Avoid reading, exercise and TV for at least 30 minutes before retiring as these are all brain stimulants.

melatonin, GABA, 5-HTP, and Valerian root to name a few. I've tried them all and they are the best. I recommend taking more than the recommended dosage.
